Rape allegations: Taxify driver sues Dorcan Fabson
Taxify driver Henry Nnaemeka, accused of attempted rape/kidnap by Nollywood actress Dorcas Shola Fapson, has threatened to sue the actress for libel and defamation of character.
A purported letter from Mr Nnaemeka’s lawyers surfaced online today indicating the driver is demanding for five million naira as compensation for damages done to his person and the trauma he suffered from the actress’s allegations and a public apology.
“We therefore on his behalf, demand that you issue a press conference retracting the libelous publications and also make a public apology which must be given equal publicity with your publication and shall be made to be published to be published on two national dailies and on all online new media and blogs where these libellous statements were published, the letter says.
“It is our further demand that you pay our client the sum of =N=5,000,000.00 (Five Million Naira) in damages being compensation to assuage the irreparable loss of goodwill and the trauma he has suffered as a result of your malicious publication.”
Ms Fabson on Thursday accused Nnaemeka of attempting to kidnap and rape her after her online Taxify booking went wrong.
The incident has caused a social media storm with for and against the parties involved.
Fellow entertainment industry colleagues have spoken in support of the actress while others have dismissed the allegations as a cheap effort for attention by Ms Fabson.
